LLDPE Film Blowing Machine — Tough, Puncture-Resistant Film
An LLDPE film blowing machine produces film with high tensile strength and puncture resistance — the material behind heavy-duty garbage bags, industrial liners and blown stretch film. LLDPE is less forgiving to process than LDPE: it needs a stronger extruder drive, careful air ring tuning and a slightly narrower processing window. E-SHION monolayer and ABA lines process LDPE/LLDPE blends up to high LLDPE content, and IBC 3-layer lines add a tough LLDPE skin over a recycled core.
Why LLDPE film
LLDPE film is substantially stronger than LDPE film of the same thickness, with far better puncture and tear resistance. That strength lets you down-gauge — thinner film at the same performance — which is why LLDPE dominates heavy-duty packaging.
Typical LLDPE film products: heavy-duty garbage bags, bin liners, industrial liners, stretch and bundling film, agricultural film.
- High tensile and puncture strength at thin gauge
- Better tear resistance than LDPE
- Down-gauging saves material cost on high-volume products
- Often blended with LDPE to ease processing — a common approach is 30–70% LLDPE depending on target film properties and machine configuration
LLDPE vs LDPE vs HDPE — where does LLDPE fit?
- For softer, easier-to-seal film, compare with the LDPE film blowing machine guide.
- For stiff, thin shopping-bag film, see the HDPE film blowing machine guide.

Processing LLDPE on a blown film line
LLDPE's higher melt strength is both the advantage and the difficulty — bubbles hold their shape, but the melt resists flow, so screw design and drive power matter.
If you plan to run mostly LLDPE, say so when you order — E-SHION confirms the screw type and drive package before production, and adjusts the quote accordingly. Actual processing temperature and die settings depend on the LLDPE grade, melt flow index, film thickness and machine configuration.
- Barrier or Maddock-type screw for thorough melting
- Higher extruder torque — check motor power before buying a line
- Careful air ring tuning to stabilize the bubble
- Melt temperature roughly 190–220 °C, higher than LDPE
- Blow-up ratio usually 2:1 to 2.5:1
Recommended machines for LLDPE film
Machine choice follows your blend ratio and whether you need a recycled core — here is how E-SHION matches machines to LLDPE film production:
- Monolayer — LDPE/LLDPE blends up to high LLDPE content on one extruder: the practical choice for most heavy-duty garbage bag film
- ABA — LLDPE skins over a recycled or filled core: keeps puncture resistance on the surface while cutting material cost
- IBC 3-layer — high output and wide film with an LLDPE skin: heavy-duty film at up to 500 kg/h scale

Frequently asked questions
What is an LLDPE film blowing machine?
A blown film extrusion line configured for linear low-density polyethylene — tougher and more puncture resistant than LDPE, usually run as a blend with LDPE for easier processing.
LLDPE vs LDPE film — which is better?
LLDPE is stronger and more puncture resistant, so it can be down-gauged for the same strength. LDPE is softer, clearer and easier to seal and process. Most bag producers run a blend of both.
Can a blown film machine make stretch film?
Yes — blown stretch film is produced on blown film lines, typically at lower output than cast stretch lines. Tell us the target gauge, width and wrap performance and E-SHION confirms the configuration.
What LDPE/LLDPE blend ratio can the machine handle?
E-SHION monolayer and ABA lines run blends from pure LDPE up to high LLDPE content; confirm your typical blend and we set the screw, motor and air ring package accordingly.
How much does an LLDPE film blowing machine cost?
Indicative factory-direct ranges run from about $12K to $150K depending on film width, output, layer count and automation — request a quote for your exact configuration. Indicative ranges by machine type — Monolayer: $18,000 – $45,000; IBC 3 Layer: $60,000 – $150,000; ABA: $35,000 – $90,000; 3 Layer Air Bubble: $25,000 – $65,000; PP: $18,000 – $45,000; Mini: $12,000 – $28,000.
