LDPE Film Blowing Machine — Soft Film, Carrier & Garbage Bags
An LDPE film blowing machine extrudes low-density polyethylene into soft, high-clarity film used for carrier bags, garbage bags, garment bags and flat bags. LDPE is the most forgiving blown film material: a wide processing window, easy sealing and good transparency. E-SHION supplies LDPE film blowing machines from a 600–1,200 mm monolayer line at 30–120 kg/h up to ABA co-extrusion lines that run an LDPE/LLDPE skin with a recycled or filled core.
Why LDPE film
LDPE film is soft, flexible and seals at low temperature, which makes it the default material for bags that must close cleanly on high-speed bag making machines.
Typical LDPE film products: carrier and shopping bags, drawstring and tie-on garbage bags, garment bags, industrial liners, shrink and bundling film.
- Soft hand feel with high transparency
- Low sealing temperature — fast, reliable seals on bag making machines
- Wide processing window — forgiving for new operators and recycled content
- Good low-temperature flexibility
LDPE vs LLDPE vs HDPE — where does LDPE fit?
- For higher puncture resistance and down-gauging, see the LLDPE film blowing machine guide.
- For stiff, thin shopping-bag film, compare with the HDPE film blowing machine guide.

Processing LDPE on a blown film line
LDPE runs on conventional single-screw extruders with standard barrier screws. Bubble stability is excellent, so air ring tuning is simpler than for LLDPE or HDPE.
Note: actual processing temperature and die settings depend on the LDPE grade, melt flow index, film thickness and machine configuration — the ranges above are typical starting points.
- Typical melt temperature 160–190 °C — easy to hold with PID zone control
- Standard air ring cooling; IBC only needed for wide or high-output lines
- Blow-up ratio commonly 2:1 to 3:1
- Film thickness from 0.008 mm (thin carrier bags) up to 0.10 mm (industrial liners)
Recommended machines for LDPE film
Which machine fits depends on your bag type and output — here is how E-SHION matches machines to LDPE film production:
- Mini — small-scale production and product sampling up to 50 kg/h: the lowest-investment entry into LDPE film, from 100 mm folded width
- Monolayer — the workhorse for standard LDPE film up to 120 kg/h: carrier bags, garbage bags and garment bags at full production speed
- ABA — three layers with an LDPE skin over a recycled or filled core: cuts material cost per kg of film while keeping LDPE surface quality

Frequently asked questions
What is an LDPE film blowing machine?
A blown film extrusion line configured for low-density polyethylene: it melts LDPE pellets, inflates them into a film bubble, and winds the flattened film into rolls for bag making or packaging.
What is the difference between LDPE and LLDPE film?
LDPE film is softer, more transparent and easier to seal; LLDPE film is tougher and more puncture resistant. Many producers run LDPE/LLDPE blends to combine easy processing with strength.
Can the same machine run LDPE and LLDPE?
Yes — E-SHION monolayer and ABA lines process both LDPE and LLDPE. Blends with up to roughly 70% LLDPE run on standard screws; tell us your blend and we set up the screw and temperature profile accordingly.
What film width and thickness can an LDPE machine produce?
E-SHION LDPE-capable lines run 600–1,200 mm folded width (mini lines start at 100 mm) with film thickness from 0.008 mm to 0.10 mm, output 30–120 kg/h depending on model.
How much does an LDPE film blowing machine cost?
Indicative factory-direct ranges run from about $12K to $150K depending on film width, output, layer count and automation — request a quote for your exact configuration. Indicative ranges by machine type — Monolayer: $18,000 – $45,000; IBC 3 Layer: $60,000 – $150,000; ABA: $35,000 – $90,000; 3 Layer Air Bubble: $25,000 – $65,000; PP: $18,000 – $45,000; Mini: $12,000 – $28,000.
