What actually has to change on the machine
The same extruder can run both resins, but three settings decide whether the bubble runs or fights you.

The blend is usually the real answer
Most bag producers do not choose one resin — they blend. A typical LDPE/LLDPE blend keeps the easy processing and sealing of LDPE while gaining the puncture resistance of LLDPE, and it is the cheapest route to a stronger bag without changing the machine.
As a working rule: low LLDPE content when the film must seal easily and look glossy, higher LLDPE content when the bag must survive rough handling or carry sharp-edged contents. Confirm the ratio with your resin supplier and give it to us before the line is configured.

Film cost, not resin price, decides the winner
LLDPE usually costs more per kilogram than LDPE, and LDPE film is easier to run. LLDPE earns its price back through down-gauging: a thinner LLDPE film can hold the same load, so cost per finished bag can be lower even at a higher resin price.
