Food packaging film lives or dies on two things: sealing consistency and cleanliness. Structures are multi-layer — sealing skin, mechanical core, print skin — which is why converters choose 3-layer co-extrusion, and why the granulator sits outside the food line: food-contact film runs fresh material only.

Do I need a multi-layer machine for food packaging film?
For most food structures, yes: a 3-layer co-extrusion line puts the sealing skin, core and print skin in one pass — barrier and sealing without lamination. Single-layer remains viable for simple bread and produce bags.
Which printing press suits food packaging?
Gravure for long-run, high-graphics work (8 colors, 150 m/min, ±0.1 mm registration); stack flexo for mid-runs where changeover speed matters. Both run on the same film supply.
Can recycled material go into food film?
No — keep food-contact layers virgin. The closed-loop granulating line serves the non-food layers and the production scrap, not the sealing skin.
